Timeshare Travel –Take a trip to . . . BRANSON

by admin on September 12, 2009

We recently took a trip to Branson, Missouri and stayed at the Wyndham at the Falls timeshare. Overall, we had a great trip, but if we return, there are some things we would do differently next time.

This was not our first trip to Branson—more like the 7th or 8th.  But we had not been there in the summer for many years.  To begin with, it was incredibly hot, although that was probably true of any place in the U.S. that particular week.  But we had also forgotten how crowded it could be in Branson in the summer. We had always been amazed at how courteous drivers are, doing the little wave to thank other cars for letting them turn in front of them.  But it seemed as if the Branson Wave has evolved into “I’m gonna’ cut you off and not even wait for you to stop!”

That being said, we really had no other major complaints about the town.  Branson still offers wonderful entertainment at reasonable prices. Some people think that it is all country music.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  Yes, there are some country shows, but there are also magicians, 50’s music, comedians, and Shoji Tabuchi, the Japanese fiddler.  There is an amazing new group called SIX, consisting of (you guessed it) six brothers who harmonize and perform with absolutely no musical accompaniment.  You would swear there is an orchestra there, but they do it all with their mouths and microphones.  We counted over 100 shows that can be seen morning, afternoon and evening.  If you get tired of shows, head for Silver Dollar City.  It houses an amusement park with rides, more shows, and a waterpark.

When buying show tickets, be sure to check out 2 for 1 tickets ( they are online and also have a store in Branson).  There are flyers and deals everywhere and you can also buy tickets at the new Branson Tourism Center.

As timeshare travel goes, the Falls was not remarkable, but it was comfortable.  We had previously stayed at Wyndham at the Meadows, which has a nice activities program and other amenities.  The Falls has only an outdoor pool, and you have to drive about 3 miles to participate in the activities at Mountain Vista, the other Wyndham timeshare.  We later found out that all the Friday check-ins are at the Falls, so watch that if you want to be in one of the other two areas.

Overall, though, we had fun and will certainly return, though probably not in the summer (rather go on a weekend cruise to nowhere!).  If you have any questions or comments about shows, restaurants, etc. e-mail us at TimeshareTidbits@gmail.com
