Another Great Timeshare Year Wraps UP

“Happy New Year” from your friends at Timeshare Tidbits.  We think this is an excellent time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the coming year.

We suggest you think about your timeshare trips during 2012.  What could you have done differently as far as planning and executing your trips, where did you go and were you happy with the results?   What were the costs for the trips you took?   What are some ways to keep those costs low in the future, and how can you get more vacation time out of what you own?   Keep reading this blog, explore the internet for more help, talk to other timeshare owners on your trips, and check out other timeshare sites we suggest.

At the end of the year we do a little analysis of our timeshare travel to get an idea of what it costs as well as number of days we spent in timeshares.  We had a number of wonderful trips, many of those with family and friends.  The connections we made with them are most important and give us lasting memories.  Those times are hard to measure, but are definitely a special part of our timeshare vacations.

We own some 16 weeks of timeshare in several different companies.  Some of these are fixed weeks, while others are in points systems and we belong to RCI for trading purposes.  We traveled 56 days in 1 Bedrooms and 48 days in 2 Bedrooms, making a total of 104 nights.  Our cost for maintenance fees and, exchange fees came in at $8751 for 2012.  The average cost for using each night works out to be $84.00 per night.  We did not include travel costs, food or activities on our trips.  We think this is excellent value when you look a nightly costs and number of days.  This is also an excellent value when you think of the accommodation we are getting in a timeshare compared to motel room.  Also, many of these nights were at ocean front resorts, 23 days in Hawaii, Disney Resorts, etc.

We hope you have enjoyed reading this blog as we share information about timesharing.  We have tried to be of help so that you can make the best of your timeshare ownership.  We thought it might be helpful to highlight some of our more popular posts during the last year in case you missed them.

  • 2 cups black-eyed peas
  • 6 cups of water
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 large chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1-1/2 C. diced ham
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes

  • Rinse peas and beans with cold water.  Cover with water and bring to a boil for about 2 minutes.  Remove from heat and let stand for 2 hours, covered, or until they are softened.  Drain and rinse, discarding liquid.  Add remaining ingredients, except for tomatoes, and bring to a boil.  Cover and simmer about 1-1/2 hours .  Add tomatoes, and heat through for about 20 minutes.  (Taste of Home, modified)

Hope you enjoy, and have a good timeshare 2013.
